Well, it is HOT here! Last week it hit 115 F (46 C) several days in a row. The air conditioner was struggling to keep up so we distracted ourselves at a park nearby. They have started building these little waterparks around here. They have fountains and water shooters and buckets that dump and they just put them near playgrounds. The kids loved it!
Needless to say, we have all gained a nice tan this summer! Oh! Then a couple days ago a wild fire took out a sub-station and all of the county lost power for most of the day. We got in our car and drove down to Mesquite and stayed in a hotel room for the night rather than staying in the house without air conditioning. It was an adventure and motivated me to get better prepared for emergencies. There were lines and lines of cars trying to get gas and lots of people trying to get out of town like we were. Pretty crazy. Luckily, power came back on that night. That is all the excitement I have in my life right now. Ah well.
