So, we finally took a family trip to Disneyland. It was the first for the kids and myself also. They were much more impressed with it all than I was. :) haha It was a fun-filled weekend of rides, churros, lines, cotton candy, lines, Disney characters, lines, pictures, excitement, walking, whining and exhaustion. A little rundown:
Thursday: drive 6 hours, play at Disneyland 4 hours. Sleep.
Friday: Back to Disneyland for a few hours. Walk back to hotel soaking wet from rain. Spend the rest of the day in hotel, watched fireworks from hotel window. Sleep
Saturday: Back to Disneyland at 7 AM! Stay till lunch, head to California Adventure. Stay till 7 pm. Sleep. (by the way, don't try the whole 12-hours-at-theme-parks-in-one-day thing. It doesn't end well.)
Sunday: Newport beach for a few hours. Chillin' at the hotel.
Monday: Drive home.
Highlights: Kids were great on the drive there. They were troopers the whole weekend with all the walking. Their smiles, laughs and excitement at seeing the sights. After riding the Matterhorn, Sadie, wide-eyed, and telling me, not too convincingly, "That was NOT scary Mama, and I did NOT even cry." Will chasing seagulls on the beach and getting soaking wet and sandy despite it being cold outside. Kenzi meticulously collecting seashells from the sand and filling her pockets with them. Sitting together, as a family, watching the fireworks from the hotel window. Kenzi going on the Tower of Terror with me so I "didn't have to be alone."
Lowlights:Will and I getting stuck in a tunnel on Thunder Mountain. Momentarily loosing Sadie amid throngs of people, only to find her hugging Mickey Mouse's leg and looking up at him adoringly saying "Hi Mickey! Hi Mickey!" Getting drenched and cold in the Friday afternoon rainstorm. Waiting in line next to weirdos. Being sick on Sunday. Driving the long way home because the freeway was closed from snow.
Joe D and I both agreed that we are ready for a vacation now. Haha. It wasn't much of one for us! But it was a great weekend. Hope you all did something fun too.

we'll be at the open house in Moab on saturday. we wanted to come for the wedding so bad, but cosmo has 2 tests that day that he cant miss, and i just started a new job so I cant take off work.. :(
