Hey friends and family, I realize it's been a while since I last posted. Truthfully, I have been a little busy. Not today though, which is why I am taking the time to write. Let me give you a quick rundown of what's been going on the last month or so, in no particular order.
-Kenzi finished 1st grade and the fifth day into summer vacation informed me that "I don't want to stop going to school. I miss my teacher and friends." She's the most difficult of the three kids to deal with when she is bored and we are making lots of trips to the library and play dates so I don't go crazy.
-Will started summer school. I LOVE his preschool teachers and was so thrilled with how much progress he has made since he started there, that I figured I'd just keep him in for the summer and hopefully give him a head start when he starts kindergarten in the fall.
-Sadie is. . . well, she's challenging right now. She keeps things interesting and I'll leave it at that.
-We moved from the townhouse into a home with a yard! YAY!!! We have a lease option in case we decide to buy it in a year. We'll see. It's been lovely to have some space and be able to send the kids downstairs to play. The neighborhood and ward are awesome so far- really nice people. There was a kid's parade and potluck breakfast on the fourth of July. It's a tight-knit group of people.
-Our dog, Roxy has doubled in size and is finally housetrained! She is seriously a sweetheart and we all love her. It's nice to be able to have a yard for her to play in, but her favorite place is the dog park. Joe D takes her there every morning and she's made lots of friends.
-I have started my photography business and it is going really well. Much better than I expected it to. It's been way fun so far and I am gaining confidence in my abilities, but still a little nervous. I am working on getting a website running for it, but for now I think I will just create a blog. If you want to check out a little of what I've been shooting, look at www.alysiasphotos.blogspot.com
-Joe D is still working from home and loves having an official office. It's been good. Last we heard from the boss, they decided they want us in Atlanta again, maybe in a year or so. I'm not holding my breath. I'll believe it when I see it.
-The 4th of July was quite a day for my family. We spent pretty much the whole day with Joe D's siblings and their kids. We went to the park for kid rides, then swimming, then painted t-shirts, then had a bbq, then did fireworks, then started a fire, then put it out, then got into a whole messy situation with a power-tripping cop, then went home to put crying kids to bed WAY too late at night. It was memorable. Too long and involved to get into.
-I've been keeping busy unpacking, decorating, working on scanning all my old photos, couponing, photo shoots, photo editing, and the usual daily grind stuff. I'm hoping to get some photos on here with this post, but for now I'll just put this up. Sorry if I've been on the outs lately, I'm coming around again.
