I've lived in the west all my life (except the year in Switzerland) and I had never been to the Grand Canyon until a few weeks ago. It was pretty cool, I'll admit, but I wasn't downright awestruck, like so many of the other tourists seemed to be. I guess I've seen so many of the other wonders of the west that this wasn't incredibly impressive to me. It did make me feel small though. I was content to take a few pictures and after a couple hours of going from one view point to the next it all started looking the same. That said, I still had a ton of fun and loved being with my family.

Here is the token picture of cute kids in front of the railing. Below are a few moments I captured throughout the day. You can click on the collage to enlarge it.

I'm glad we went, but I'm also glad we didn't travel for days and spend tons of money to get there. I can check it off my list of places I want to see before I die. My only regret is that we didn't get to stay until dusk, which is when I wanted to take pictures. Oh well. Maybe another time. Probably not though. I think this picture was my favorite.
