Wedding bells were ringing...

Cute, huh? I made this "cake" for my newest sister-in-law, Julie, at her bridal shower. The bottom is 10 lbs. flour, the next is 5 lb. sugar, then a box of baking soda and a tiny canister of baking powder on the top. Wrap of them in white tissue paper and decorate with cute ribbon and WA-LA, a cake. That was a couple weeks ago.
The real happy occasion took place this past Saturday, when Julie and Brad (Joe D's younger brother) were sealed in the St. George temple. It was such a fun day. Here are a couple pictures from the temple grounds.

Kenzi with her great-grandpa Winn. He is the coolest old guy ever and all of us adore him.

Will receiving a kiss from his one true love, Julie. From the first moment he laid eyes on Julie, he has been smitten with her. He has declared her the prettiest girl in the world and made it known to all of us that she was his girlfriend and he would beat up Brad to keep her for himself. We've all laughed and played along with his fantasy, so we couldn't help but get a picture of the bride kissing him on the day she married another. He'll be mortified in 10 years when we tell him he had a crush on his aunt Julie, but it's just so dang cute. He wasn't TOO bent out of shape that she married Brad instead of waiting for him, but he was pretty embarrassed that we made him sit there to get a picture in front of everyone. When he gets nervous he fidgets with his fingers and as we were taking this picture he actually was flipping us off (not that he knew he was) and so everyone started laughing and he got even more embarrassed. Poor guy. I didn't know until we got in the car to leave and he told me he didn't like everyone looking at him and laughing. I apologized to him, but it sure made for a cute picture!

The newlyweds and their parents. The whole day brought back so many fun memories of my wedding. What a great day. I'll have to get some pictures of it on here sometime.

This is a snapshot of Sadie during the reception that night. She was a total spaz the whole night. Running around with the cousins, filching cupcakes, hiding under table cloths. All the kids had the time of their life.

A few shots of the decor. It was beautiful. The whole night was very romantic and magical. You can't see the lovely yard, but it has been months in the making. Bev and Tom have wanted to make-over their backyard for a long time and this was a perfect reason, so the whole family has been toiling endlessly to get it ready for the reception and it was a rousing success. The food that was served was catered by Bev herself with some help from a few others. Everything was delectable and the whole spread was amazing. I was lucky enough to get to help arrange the flowers. Julie had purchased a TON of flowers and bought vases and things for them rather than hiring a florist. So before the reception her sisters and I had to put them together. It was so fun! I loved it! Some of you may not know, but my dream job is to run a florist shop. I love arranging flowers. Maybe one day...we'll see.

So congratulations to Brad and Julie! And thanks for giving us all a reason to throw a fantastic party!

She is very beautiful. I was laughing at Will's face in that pic. I know that face well. Where are the pics of the beautiful bouquets that you put together? From what I could see of the yard it looked fantastic!

Miss you,
AKPB
