I was lucky enough to be able to spend the last weekend with most of my siblings. It was a happy and hard time. One of my sisters, Becky, was having surgery for breast cancer and the other, Stacy, recently discovered she is expecting. It was a bittersweet weekend.
Becky went through surgery fine and should be coming out of the hospital today. She is being taken care of at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City. They have been GREAT there. It was like the "5 star hotel" of all hospitals and the whole staff was just wonderful. It is really hard when someone you love is going through something so difficult, so it is really comforting to know that they are in good hands and the people really care about the patients there. (It probably helped that she used to work there and it seemed like everyone knew her.) Also, my brother Josh works there and was able to be close by and check in on her. She will be going to stay at Stacy's house in Pleasant Grove for another month or so to recover and start chemotherapy, then she will head back to Texas. It was a little scary, but I am SO glad I was able to be there with her. It has been a wake-up call to me that it is so important to do self-breast exams regularly, even if you are young. It can happen to anyone. Becky is only 31! If you can remember her in your prayers, I know they would be appreciated.
The happy news is, Stacy and Doug are expecting after a long time of trying. Hooray!!! I'm going to be an auntie again! I'm so excited for them! We also got to see several relatives on my Dad's side of the family that we hadn't seen in a while, so that was way fun too. Thanks for the yummy dinner Lynette! Love you all!
So I am finishing up the semester in the next couple weeks and we are also looking for a new place to live. Those two things are keeping me plenty busy so I better run. In fact, I am heading out to look at a place now. Take care all!
